OCEANS 2017 MTS/IEEE Anchorage

 

As Oceans '17 approaches, activity in Alaska's waters increases, which provides promise of great interest in Arctic and Sub-Arctic Oceans in 2017.   We will provide links and information concerning Oil and Gas Exploration; Fishing, Offshore Energy Production, Oceanographic Research, Ocean Acidification, Remote Sensing, Arctic Sea Ice and many other topic.  Any application of Technology to the waters around Alaska will be provided as a demonstration that Alaska and Oceans ’17 is a place to be.

 ARCTIC COUNCIL

The United States of America is beginning two years  as Chairman of the Arctic Council.  The US would not be an Arctic Nation without Alaska, so Alaska has a vital role in Arctic Policy.

 

ARCTIC COUNCIL

Alaska has its own Arctic Policy which includes the Oceans.  Governor Bill Walker has signed this new policy into law.
